In the autumn of 2016, a musical partnership was formed between Karl-Otto Hagen-Olsen & Anouchka Mukherjee. Together, they regularly performed four-hands/quatre mains on the piano in concert. The repertoire ranged from Debussy, Bizet, Chaminade, Fauré, Moszkowski, Brahms, Schubert, Grieg, Sinding, Dvorak, Gottschalk and other compositions for four hands. Karl-Otto Hagen-Olsen passed away on the 15th of November 2019. The 2 pianists played their last concert together on the 9th of November 2019.



Karl-Otto Hagen-Olsen was born in Tromsö, Norway and had Malfrid Hansen as his first teacher during his early years. After this, he studied in Oslo from 1960 to 1964 with the Norwegian pianist Ivar Johnsen and made his debut at Oslo University Auditorium in 1963 with glowing reviews from the newspapers. Following this, he studied at The Conservatoire Nationale Superieure de Musique in Paris from 1964 to 1967. His teacher there was Jeanne-Marie Darré. From 1968 to 1969, he studied in New York at the Manhattan School of Music with Constance Keene and private studies with David Saperton. Karl-Otto Hagen-Olsen has performed in numerous concerts in Norway, Sweden, France and the USA. As a soloist, he has participated in several concerts with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Harmoniens Orchestra in Bergen, Kringkastingsorchestra in Olso, Trondheims Symphony Orchestra etc. with works such as Saint-Saens Pianoconcerto no.2 in g-minor& Mendelssohns Pianoconcerto in d-minor.

Karl-Otto Hagen-Olsen has received several prestigious prizes throughout the years, such as Princess Astrid´s Music Prize, Polarsirkelfestivalens Kunstnerpris, Fulbright Scholarship, Norwegian-American Association´s Scholarship, Örnsköldvik´s Cultural Scholarship etc.

Karl-Otto Hagen-Olsen participated at the age of 12 as a soloist with Tromsö Orchestral Association. They performed Mozart´s Piano Concerto no.20 in d-minor. 

When Tromsö in 1969 celebrated its 175th anniversary, Karl-Otto Hagen-Olsen performed Griegs Pianoconcerto in A-Minor and accompanied the Norwegian soprano Åse Nordmo Lövberg.

At the Music Festival in Harstad he has performed Rachmaninoffs Pianoconcerto no.2 in c-minor. In Sweden he has together with Örnsköldsviks Orchestral Association performed Griegs Pianoconcerto in A-minor and Rachmaninoffs Pianoconcerto no.2. His concerts have always received brilliant reviews. In September 2011, he was awarded the St. Olav Medal honoured by His Majesty King Harald the V at the Norwegian Embassy. From 1970, he has lived in Sweden and has been teaching piano and performing regularly.


Anouchka Mukherjee was born in London. Her mother is Swedish & her father Indian. She made her national debut as a singer in Berwaldhallen, Stockholm, in 2007 singing Nicolai Medtner´s Sonate Vocalise. However, she started her musical career as a pianist studying with, amongst others, Elisif Lundin-Bergfelt and Inger Wikström. She has worked as an accompanist for 30 years, playing for singers and instrumentalists in concerts, masterclasses, opera-rehearsals & competitions etc. in Sweden, England, the U.S. Austria and Malta. She also worked for a year at UMKC in the U.S as a voice teacher and accompanist playing for students & professionals.

Anouchka has received The Agnes MacClean Vocal Scholarship from The University of St Andrews and a GTA Vocal Scholarship from the University of Missouri Kansas City,USA towards a DMA in Voice Performance. Anouchka has performed as a vocal soloist/concertsinger in the USA, Scotland, England and Sweden performing amongst other works Händel´s Messiah, Mozart´s Mass in C-Minor, Pergolesi´s Stabat Mater, Mendelssohn´s Hymn of Praise, Bach´s St Matthew Passion, Magnificat and Mass in B-Minor, Marzellina in Beethoven´s Fidelio and Nella in Puccini´s Gianni Schicci, as well as a range of concerts where opera arias, scenes from operas, lieder and songs have been performed. Anouchka also is the choral director of La Chorale Francophone, at l Église Reformée Francaise in Stockholm. Since 2016, she has also regularly accompanied Royal Court Singer Siv Wennberg in concert.
